Geez…I’m getting so fucking tired of seeing ads on TV for some crappy plastic contraption or ‘incredible’ glue/paint sprayer/lawn tool/kitchen appliance/scratch remover/stain remover/dirt remover/thing-a-ma-bob that is the next best thing to owning a stock pile of gold or living forever.
I guess it’s okay to advertise these ‘ as seen on TV ‘ gadgets with some crappily acted 30 minute infomercial…actually I found some of the items to be interesting enough that I bought a few of them…the NuWave Oven, the Pasta Boat, and the Ninja Food Processor (if you’re interested in my opinion of any of them, just ask).
But here’s the thing that really pisses me off. The infomercial spiel goes something like this… “Get the fantastic, stupendous, remarkable, better than anything you’ve ever used, {insert name of incredible gadget here} for the unheard of, incredibly low, low price of oh, say, $19.95…but WAIT…if you call right now, we’ll send you a second one as a bonus, just pay separate processing and handling“. The commercial goes on to make sure that we understand what a wonderful deal this is…”That’s TWO {insert name of incredible gizmo here} for the ridiculously low price of $19.95 (just pay separate shipping and handling).
What the fuck? Am I stupid? Did I just fall off the turnip truck or pop out of my mother’s womb yesterday? It’s so obvious what these companies are doing. They’re just selling twice as much inventory by making us think we’re getting a deal. Instead of one item they would sell you for oh, say, $9.95, you will buy two for $19.95…and you get to pay an additional inflated processing/handling fee to boot. What a deal!
Twice the fun…but you’re paying twice the price.

I find it fucking amazing that Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi, the man behind the bombing of Pan-Am Flight 103, was set free a couple of days ago ‘for humanitarian’ reasons. This bastard is dying of prostate cancer and our greatest ally cuts a deal with Libya and sends this demon home to a hero’s welcome.
What a senseless betrayal of the rule of law, of the memories of those that died, and of the feelings of the friends and relatives of the dead. What balls Gordon Brown has to even discuss the release with Khadafi. There’s been lots of talk in this country and abroad that there should be some type of retribution against Great Britain. A boycott of some kind.
I think that would be a mistake. That would only hurt the people of GB. It wasn’t their fault. But whatever asshole is responsible for this terrorists release should be stoned and pillaried…and then put on a plane and flown to an altitude of 20,000 feet over Lockerbie and thrown out without a parachute.
That, I think would be a proper response to this absolutely bastard use of government authority and government stupidity.
And not only was the act of Megrahi’s release a travesty of justice, but Libya is now using the release to its advantage politically by embarassing Great Britain.

What a GIGANTIC mistake!
Israel releases over 1000 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for one Israeli soldier…what the fuck?
Where is the logic in that move…
With overwhelming approval of the Israeli cabinet and apparently the Israeli citizenry, Benjamin Netanyahu has unleashed a thousand jihadist terrorists on his country.
What an absolutely assinine thing to do. Almost all of these palestinians had attempted to kill Israeli soldiers and citizens and had been imprisoned before they could do it again. Does the Israeli government think that a warning not to attack Israel again would make them good, law-abiding Arabs thankful to Israel for their release? Already there are threats from atleast one of the released prisoners that she will continue as a suicide bomber until she is successful.
There’s absolutely no reason that I can think of that this swap should have taken place. Yes, there was an Israeli soldier held prisoner for 6 years and it would be nice to have him home, safe and sound with his family. But not this way. No fucking way! Doesn’t Israel have enough Arabs pissed off at them, wanting to wipe them from the face of the earth? Why send Palestine over 1000 additional Jihadists to continue their fight?
One Israeli soldier saved but how many Israeli citizens and soldiers will be killed because of this stupid deal. Only time will tell.
